Under 8’s Ulverston Tournament

under8Lancaster City Juniors FC Uunder 8's were runners up in the recent Ulverston Tournament on 12 June. On a very busy afternoon of football the boys faced some familiar teams from the Lancaster district as well as several teams from Cumbria.

They were undefeated in open play, winning 4 of their pool games and drawing one, which meant they qualified first from their group. Their semi-final opponents were Hawcoat Park. A draw after extra-time led to a a very tense penalty shoot-out where LCJ eventually emerged victors. The final, against Whitehaven Tigers, also resulted in a draw after extra-time and another penalty shoot-out, which we unfortunately lost. The boys were a credit to the club and showed so much spirit all day, particularly given that we had no subs.

We were all so proud of them. Well done!

Bispham Tournament

tournamentA big well done to our Under 11/12's team that took part in the recent end of season tournament at Bispham. One of the most popular tournaments in the area attracting well over 140 teams. We were in luck with the weather, glorious weather all day. With the suncream and water been on over load! The team were in there change tshirts of yellow which wasnt a bad idea as there were two teams in our group with similar colour tops. Despite the blistering conditions the boys gave there all and played there hearts out with smiles on there faces, with some great team work during the games. The results didnt matter on the day, as the tournaments are a wind down and abit of fun for us after a season, with the last game players drawing positions out of a hat and most people out of position they all had a laugh doing it.

A big thank you to everyone at Bispham for another fantastic tournament and we look forward to coming back next year!

The under 8/9s are in tournament action next as they head to the Ulverston Tournament on sunday 12th June. This is another hugely popular tournament and we wish them good luck and to enjoy themselves.
